All-Together Housing
This non-profit agency mandates to provide and operate non-profit residential accommodation for persons of low income. United Way of Quinte was one of four founding agencies responsible for its creation. Today, United Way of Quinte remains the lead agency helping All-Together achieve its full organizational capacity. All-Together owns and operates a supportive housing project in Belleville and is funded through the Homelessness Partnering Strategy of the Government of Canada.
Quinte Regional Adjustment Centre

Funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, this program was established to assist unemployed workers find meaningful, sustainable jobs, by making appropriate referrals to Employment Ontario and other community services as required. We have two locations (114 Victoria Ave, Federation House, Belleville and 249 William St., Sears Unity Place, Belleville) to serve laid-off workers which are open Fridays from 8:30am to 4:30pm but we are available to make calls during regular business hours Monday through Friday.
Worker's Help Centre
A pilot project of United Way of Quinte and Quinte Labour Council, the Worker’s Help Centre is open to unionized and non-unionized employees requiring assistance with any number of employment issues including EI or WSIB claims. The centre also advises individuals on health and safety issues and workplace concerns. Workers can be linked with available employment, upgrading and other community services through the various workshops, referrals and training opportunities provided. Open every Saturday in July & August from 9am to 3pm at 114 Victoria Ave, Federation House, Belleville and September to June from 9am - 3pm at 249 William St., Sears Unity Place, Belleville.

Go Girls Program
Healthy bodies, healthy minds is a program that targets girls in grades 7 and 8 and is designed to provide them with tools to help them make healthy choices around physical activity, balanced eating and feeling good about themselves.
In School Mentoring Program
This program matches elementary aged students with volunteers for one hour per week during school hours for the purpose of friendship and interaction.
Traditional Program
The program provides one to one positive mentoring relationships to youth, creating enhanced self esteem, personal development and social skills for the children involved.

The Illumina Project
This project is designed to work with youth who are at risk and disengaged between the ages of 12 and 17 to decrease the likelihood of becoming involved in the criminal justice system. The program will enhance communication, team work, cognitive thinking, self esteem, confidence, social problem solving and conflict resolution by the youth viewing the world around them through the lens of a camera.

Learn Not to Burn
The program teaches fire and burn prevention lessons to children using the fire safety house, robotic Sparky dog and Learn Not to Burn curriculum. Home safety kits are also provided to mothers and families with limited income.

Children's After School Program
This after school program emphasizes fun, activity based learning that reinforces the knowledge and skills needed for in-school success, through sports, crafts, cooking and other programs like stained glass and pottery for children aged 5 to 12.
Teen Program
A drop-in program for teens aged 13 to 18 where they can participate in activities like sports, music, cooking, wood working or scrap booking. The ROC promotes healthy development by identifying and responding to the teens needs through guest speakers and workshops.

Positive Parenting Program
Triple P is a positive parenting program that incorporates five levels of intervention for parents of children from birth through adolescence. The goal of the program is to increase parenting skill, knowledge and self confidence for ALL parents in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties.

The Good Back Pack Program
This is a partnership program between United Way of Quinte, Volunteer & Information Quinte and Community Development Council that provides elementary aged school children in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties with grade appropriate school supplies so they can start the school year on par with their peers; armed with the tools necessary to create a positive learning environment. Any area child entering JK to grade 8 qualifies to purchase a backpack.

Drop In Centre
This program provides a safe barrier free program where survivors can receive support for financial, housing and legal issues. Referrals to community agencies are made on an as needed basis. Survivors are given free internet access and are able to use all resources from our library.
Information & Support Group
These meetings provide a connection to the community. Survivors and caregivers are able to enjoy a social outing in a risk free environment. During these meetings, survivors set the agenda and topics of interest to them are discussed. Guest speakers are invited when members indicate an interest.

General Support Services
This program provides a wide range of services to adults who are deaf, deafened or hard of hearing, their families and their communities, as well as the parents of children who are deaf, deafened or hard of hearing and seniors 55 and older who are culturally deaf.
Hearing Care Counselling Program
This program provides professional counselling, communications support and hearing care information, enabling hard of hearing and deafened individuals to maximize their independence, safety and communication ability, and to remain connected to their community.

Counselling Program
Through group and individual counselling programs, individuals discover ways to handle and manage their mental illness through a unique process of changing ones attitudes, values, feelings, goals and skills. Most mental illnesses can be treated and early intervention and effective supports maximize the chance for recovery.

Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP)
This program rents equipment at reduced rates, such as wheelchairs, walkers and other healthcare equipment to people convalescing in their own homes, maintaining independence, dignity and safety during recovery from temporary or long term illness.

Library Services
Using a toll free or online library service, the program offers access to thousands of titles in Braille, print Braille, talking books, descriptive video, newspapers and magazines, giving people who have vision loss the opportunity to continue exploring the world of literature.
Orientation and Mobility
Instructors teach safe travel techniques, allowing people with vision loss to remain active, independent and engaged in the daily activities of life, including employment, education, shopping and recreational activities.

Peer Mentoring
Through one on one peer mentoring relationships, this unique initiative promotes the inclusion of students with disabilities in the life of the school, fostering a school culture that recognizes the valuable contributions that students with disabilities can have both in personal relationships and within the school community as a whole.

FASTEC
This program provides supports and services to individuals with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) as well as education and awareness of FASD by offering specific seminars, workshops and training to schools, community organizations, service providers and the general public.

Footcare Program
Qualified VON nurses provide assessment, care and advice for clients who are unable to adequately look after their own basic foot care needs due to age, poor eye sight, dexterity problems, physical disability or illness. Appropriate foot care can greatly help in the prevention of other health issues for seniors and people with illness or disabilities.

Caregivers Group
This group meets monthly and is led by a skilled community professional, experienced in leading groups through crisis management and conflict resolution. The goal of this program is to provide support and a forum for discussion and sharing of ideas with other caregivers.

Winter Warmth
This program was created to assist low income households at or below the poverty line, who are struggling to pay their winter heating bills. Coordinated by United Way of Quinte in partnership with Belleville Community Trust and sponsored by Veridian and Union Gas, the Winter Warmth Program provides one-time financial assistance grants of up to a maximum $450 for individuals and families who are in arrears and are facing service disconnection.

Brain Injury Awareness Month Activities
The goal for Brain Injury Awareness month is to promote awareness through education, information and outreach. As the community gains knowledge we hope to increase acceptance for our survivors and understanding for our families. Activities will include our annual vigil and BBQ, survivors golf tournament, open house for professionals, survivor’s art show and reception, ESM golf tournament, bike safety day. We will also conduct our AGM during this month. We hang a banner in the downtown Belleville area for the month of June and will have a display at the Quinte Mall.
Library
The resources in our library include medical books about the brain and brain injury, books written by survivors, guides for teachers, PSW’s and caregivers working with ABI survivors, an anatomically correct model of the brain, DVD’s and safety packages on concussions, bike safety, sledding safety and several poster board presentations.

Public Education

Public First Aid Training
With a goal to increasing the safety, awareness and emergency response capabilities of the general public, St. John Ambulance provides training in emergency, standard first aid, CPR, lifesaver, junior first aid, babysitting and the home alone program.
Uniformed Adult & Cadet Volunteer Members
St. John Ambulance provides on site, no cost, first aid emergency services for a wide variety of public functions, events and major incidents, using more than 28 well trained adult volunteers and over 20 cadet volunteers.

2-1-1
2-1-1 is an easy-to-remember, three-digit, non-emergency telephone number that connects callers to a full range of community, social, government and health service information. Bilingual and certified information and referral specialists answer 2-1-1 calls 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. 2-1-1 is free, confidential and multilingual provided in over 150 different languages. This program is a local partnership between United Way of Quinte and Volunteer & Information Quinte and will be formally launched throughout Hastings & Prince Edward in the fall of 2010.
Caring For Others
This fun, interactive program is delivered to grade 4 classrooms all over Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. United Way of Quinte and its team of volunteers talk to students about citizenship, civic responsibility and age appropriate opportunities for volunteering.
Day of Caring
Day of Caring mobilizes volunteers from businesses and corporations that support United Way and matches them with non-profit agencies throughout Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. Day of Caring is a unique opportunity for employees in a workplace to come together, develop team-building skills and make a difference in our community by taking part in meaningful work projects at local agencies.
New Ventures
New Ventures allocations are to provide short-term funding to test new, innovative models of service that respond to community needs in United Way of Quinte’s service area. Small capital requests may be permitted through this funding stream but overall the proposal must address one of United Way of Quinte’s funding priorities. The maximum request allowable is $5,000 and is for one time only.
Outcomes Measurement
United Way of Quinte works closely with our funded programs to facilitate a shift in how we all measure the value of the programs we deliver. The process of measuring outcomes assists program staff and volunteers to gather information that is important, qualify it, compare it against indicators of success, set reasonable targets and communicate important, valid information, greatly improving effectiveness and efficiencies.

This program increases the capacity of local agencies by promoting and advocating for volunteerism and civic engagement. Individuals in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties receive support that allows them to engage in a meaningful volunteer experience.
