Congrats Julia Cont'd
...Chair of the UWQ Board of Directors, Bruce Laughton, indicated that “the board values Julia’s
leadership both in the Quinte region and across the country as United Ways continue to serve local
communities. We congratulate her on reaching this milestone.”
In addition to Julia’s community leadership and activism, she is also a valued member of the United
Way-Centraide Movement in Canada. Julia has contributed time, energy, intellect and spirit to

Community Impact organizations by facilitating staff/board sessions and the development of action
plans. Most recently, Julia was recognized by United Way of Canada-Centraide Canada as an
exemplary leader in the Movement in a special edition of the Movement’s Weekly newsletter. “Her
talent, enthusiasm and commitment to the values and goals of our United Way-Centraide Movement is
respected and highly valued; it is what builds community within and across our system and is essential
to our continued progress”, stated Al Hatton, National President and CEO.
