Good Backpack Program
Each year, hundreds of children in the Hastings & Prince Edward are return to school without the tools and supplies necessary to ensure a positive school experience. Established in the year 2000, the Good Backpack Program provides elementary school aged children with grade appropriate school supplies, a backpack and clothing with which to start the school year on par with their peers. We anticipate upwards of 1000 children will register to receive a Good Back Pack this fall.
2010 Belleville Dragon Boat Festival
The 2010 Festival has been scheduled for August 28th this year and we are ready to get some teams registered and excited to paddle! Over 100 Participants at Day of Caring!
On June 17th at 7:45am over 100 employees from 19 businesses across Hastings & Prince Edward County kicked off the 2010 Day of Caring at Reid's Dairy in Belleville. From there company teams ventured out to 18 United Way funded agencies to assist them with program delivery, landscaping, painting and cleaning.
In the afternoon teams met at Quinte Vocational Support Services to enoy the sun and wonderful BBQ supplied by Procter & Gamble.
A huge thank you goes out to Hydro One and Cintas for sponsoring the event and special thank yous go out to all our donors and participants:
