The Jack Hartling Volunteer of the Year Award presented to Ms. Kim Egan

Each year we acknowledge one volunteer who continues to play a significant role in the success of our annual campaign. This year we are ecstatic to announce that Ms. Kim Egan is this year’s recipient of The Jack Hartling Volunteer of the Year award. Kim has volunteered with United Way of Quinte for the past 10 years in many different capacities. She is a member of our Board of Directors, a member of several board committees and a cabinet member on our Manufacturing Division.  Kim’s tireless dedication and extraordinary allegiance has also helped transform her workplace, GH Manufacturing, into an environment of selflessness and compassion. I have often wondered where and how she finds the time to give so much of herself; to always be available to help and to always do it in a kind and gracious manner. Through her own selflessness and kindness Kim continues to set a very high standard for all of us to follow. Kim, I am privileged to work with you and I know I speak for many when I say how grateful we are for your support, your professionalism and your devotion to United Way of Quinte. Thank you for your extraordinary efforts not only during campaign season but throughout the entire year.

Outstanding Commitment Awards

During this year’s celebration a number of organizations were recognized for their outstanding commitment to United Way of Quinte. Through several different methods these workplaces have cultivated a spirit of United Way “ism” whereby giving back and supporting the community has become the standard. Examples of this include encouraging their employees to sit on our Board of Directors, becoming members of our cabinet, working at our events and community sales, donating gifts in kind, hosting events on our behalf and coordinating their own events in support of United Way of Quinte.

This philosophy is not something that happens overnight. It takes enormous effort and energy on the part of many individuals to ensure the ongoing success of a workplace campaign when there are so many other priorities within that workplace.  “Outstanding Commitment to United Way of Quinte” Awards were presented to:

The City of Belleville, ExxonMobil Chemical, Kellogg’s, Kennametal Stellite, LCBO Quinte Mall, PolyCello, Quinte Healthcare, QuintEssential Credit Union, Union Gas and the YMCA of Central East Ontario.

Thank you to each of you and to your employees. Your significant contributions will help funded agencies continue to offer existing and new programs to the individuals and families they serve.

Mr. Dave Carberry

This year we were also thrilled to recognize Mr. Dave Carberry. Dave is the outgoing plant manager at Procter & Gamble and even though his time in Belleville was limited his contribution to P&G’s campaign and our overall campaign has been tremendous. Dave’s never ending enthusiasm, kindheartedness and zeal proved to be invaluable as we inched our way closer to the finish line. Dave chaired the Manufacturing Committee and over the past two years they saw an increase of $170,000!  As well, P&G had a record setting year recording an achievement of $401,000 raised for United Way of Quinte.
