United Way of Quinte
United Way is the largest non-government funder of social services throughout Canada and since United Way of Quinte’s inception in 1958, we have endeavoured to become a highly successful fundraising organization and trusted community partner. In 1958, with the support of our surrounding communities the organization raised $72,000. Today the communities of Hastings and Prince Edward Counties are closing in on $2,000,000! With our most recent achievement of $1,807,422, United Way of Quinte is fortunate to be the beneficiary of a generous community which offers unwavering support to our organization each year.
United Way of Quinte would like to extend our immense gratitude to each and every supporter, be that in time, money, or goodwill, for helping meet the growing needs of our community. We are truly in awe of the tireless efforts of individuals and workplaces in our communities. It is our honour to be part of such an unshakeable and deep-rooted philosophy.
In addition to this philosophy, United Ways across the country have begun to recognize that they contribute to a greater movement. That movement is called “Community Impact.” Community Impact is about making fundamental changes to community conditions, which includes, but is not limited to allocating funds through annual campaign efforts. It is about people and organizations coming together to create lasting measurable change. As a leader in the social service sector United Way of Quinte must engage community partners, investors and volunteers to help identifying the root causes of key local issues; develop strategies to address them; identify funding and resources to help make positive change and finally, measure the results.
United Way of Quinte is committed to working with other organizations to improve community life and to sharing experiences and expertise to meet the needs of the communities we serve. We want and require your help to continue to make long-lasting change and we look forward to continuing this journey with all of you!
