Allocations Volunteer
It is that time of year again!

We are slowly coming up on the time of year where allocations become the priority, and we wanted to take this opportunity to invite you to be part of the process.

The commitment is as follows:

  • Typically each panel member will review applications independently over the holiday break and then start to meet as a group to discuss the submissions early in January.
  • The process is wrapped up by mid February and
  • It will involve between 3-5 meetings and possibly some agency visits and lots of reading J!

We always welcome back experienced volunteers who have participated in this process for a few years, as with them comes history, continuity, leadership and knowledge; however we also welcome new volunteers to join the allocations process as we need their new perspectives and fresh opinions, so if you know someone who might be interested please pass along the information.

We will once again hold a training session on December 13th at 5:00 at the QVSS building on Greenleaf Court. (Take College St E of Cannifton Road out towards the Sears Warehouse…. Just after you pass the BellBuilding on the west side of the road, you will see Greenleaf Court).  This is where we introduce you to any changes to the application and process as well as to your fellow panel members.

If you are interested, please RSVP to Amy Watkins, Director of Community Investment at awatkins@untiedwayofquinte.ca by December 8th.  As always we’ll be looking for experienced members to lead the panel through the process, so we’d also invite you to indicate your interest in that as well if it applies to you and we will then determine who our leads will be.

We are in the process of revamping our volunteer database and collecting information on all of our wonderful volunteers. We are asking all volunteers to complete this form so that you can be contacted in the future for volunteer opportunities such as allocations. Please complete this form and email it to Amy Watkins or print it off and bring it to the training.
