United Way of Quinte is currently seeking a summer student for the position of Good Backpack Coordinator.
The Good Backpack Coordinator is responsible for administering, organizing and implementing the Good Back Pack program to ensure over 1,000 elementary aged school children in the Quinte region start the school year with sufficient school supplies.
The successful candidate will coordinate publicity & awareness for registration; coordinate volunteer needs for registration, distribution and Stuff the Bus; handle the intake of all registrants in each geographical area that United Way of Quinte supports (Belleville, Quinte West, Prince Edward County, Centre & North Hastings, Deseronto); balance the existing inventory with registration and schedule pick up dates & delivery to outlying areas for distribution of back packs.
The successful individual will have excellent communication and organizational skills; be proficient in Microsoft Office programs; the ability to create and maintain good working relationships with a variety of internal and external constituents; interest in the not-for-profit sector and possess a vehicle and valid drivers license.
